November 2 Qawra Malta

Lots of rain over night in Barcelona but seemed to be clearing later in morning.

Off to airport. This was a great way to go. I had my boarding pass, no luggage to check, and it took about 5 minutes to get through security and immigration. The passport guy just stamped my passport, he did not even look at any pages! This airport is amazing, more like a huge shopping mall than an airport. Very nice.
2 hour flight to Malta. Very nice. No passport control as the country is part of EU. and luggage did arrive!

Caught the airport shuttle to hotel. About a 30 minute ride. Hotel is older but clean and people seem nice enough.
I have a balcony and I ended up talking to the English couple next door for quite awhile. They gave me some places to see.

This is culture shock. The area is pubs, restaurants and bars. Happy hour starts at 3 pm! And many seem to take advantage. It is so strange to hear various UK accents after so much Arabic! Also to have pubs everywhere and to be able to get pork on a menu. Nice!
