October 29 Rabat Morocco
On the recommendation of the guy at reception, I headed off to the Archaeology Museum. It is only a couple blocks from the hotel. Once again, 10 dirham, $1.30 to enter. The museum has 2 floors of exhibits. All the exhibits are in both French and Arabic so difficult to work out some things. They have a couple of large marble statutes and many tools, hammers, and arrow heads for various periods. Most date to Neolithic time, from what I can work out 10,000 years ago. There are also a few pieces from Volubilis, the Roman ruin site near Mekness. It is a small museum so only about 45 minutes to go through.

I then headed off to walk along the beach. It is about a 30 minute walk to beach.... but not really a beach, it is a very rocky coast line. Very interesting though. There was 1 arch that looked very old and also a concrete building. I have no idea what it was or could be. There is also what seems to be an old hospital that is in the process of being renovated. Walked for about 45 minutes and then headed back into the city.
I caught the tram at the end of the line. Only about a 20 minute ride back, but I got off at a large park near Bab Chellah. Very nice with large trees and lots of grass. But like all areas I have seen, you are not allowed to be on the grass. There is guards everywhere making sure of this. I found a nice little coffee shop in the park so I had one. Very nice to get away from the traffic. There are not really that many people in the park.

I went for dinner at a pizza place just around the corner from hotel. They cook the pizza by a wood stove. You can taste the difference. A bit strange when I got there as the cook was in one section of the restaurant praying!
That was it for the day!

October 28 Rabat Morocco

Breakfast again in hotel. That is after coffee at cafe across the street.
Breakfast is 2 eggs fried in a tagine with lots of olive oil! Actually very good. With all the olives and olive oil I should be really healthy! Also get bread jam honey cream cheese and of course orange juice (fresh) and coffee.

Today I headed off to the Chellah, the site of Roman ruins dating back to 1300. It always amazes me that they built to last this long! There is still the main road stones, mosaic tiles and towers. A huge site but not as big as the one in Mekness. This one is now inhabited by about 100 storks! While there I met a Russian guy. he was on a day for from completing a project to teach kids about water and electricity conservation. Sounded very interesting.

He showed me where I needed to go to see the palace but as I did not have my passport with me I could not get in. So we kept walking back to the city centre where we ran into a student demonstration. The medical students are on strike as the government is changing the fee structure. It was a very peaceful, although loud march by 100s of students. They must have walked by for about 1 hour. We watched them for a while and then decided to have some lunch. We parted and I headed back to hotel to get passport.

The palace is surrounded by a huge wall with gates for entry. To enter you must check in with the police and leave your passport. There is a whole small city within the wall. Everything in immaculate, building grass and trees. The palace is not really that big, but the grounds are huge. The main gate to the palace is very nice. they even allowed pictures of the guards here.

I then headed back to hotel and had a nap before going out for dinner. I found a chwarma place. Really good. Meat, salad of rice corn tomato and cucumber, and fries for 25 dirham, about $3.

Today was a very nice day. Started off clear, then clouded over and then cleared right off for a nice warm day. No rain today as I did have my rain jacket with me!

October 27 Rabat Morocco

The morning started off very nice and sunny but as the morning went on, it got cloudy and cool. Then in the middle of afternoon, it poured rain!

I headed off for some of the old area of the city. I walked along the medina wall. I found the Bab Al Had. Very nice. Even inside the wall was not packed with shops, but I still did not go into far.

I continued on towards the water. I ended up walking along a road with high walls on both sides. The road was on a hill so I could see the cemetery on both sides. Found the water but it was very windy and the waves were crashing up against the rocks. It looked great with the lighthouse in the background.

I kept walking and along the way ended up meeting a Pakistan guy who was born in England.
We ended up spending the rest of the afternoon touring around. I was the guy in the lead as he was only here for the day and had not made any plans. Found the Oudaya kasbah. Very nice. It is painted blue as the people originate from Andalusian (Spain). But we ended up with a guide whether we wanted one or not. In the end he want a lot of money for the tour... he did not get what he asked for. He was not happy!

Continued on the the Gardens done in Andalusian style as well. A very nice place away from the traffic. There was also an archaeology museum there but all in French and Arabic. Most seem to be related to eh prehistoric find in the northern part of Morocco.

We kept walking along the road and came to the Hassan II tower. This was started in the 1100s as a mosque and tower but never finished. Unfortunately the tower was behind scaffolding so could not see much but look interesting with all the partial columns in the square. It is also the location for the Mohamed V mausoleum. This is an amazing place the tile work is really something. The coffin is marble, all very elaborate. There are guards on horses at the gates, I saw 2 gates and 4 guards at the doors to the mausoleum.

It was lunch time so we caught the tram to the main train station for something to eat. We had not sat down long and it started to rain... it must have rained for a couple of hours, so it was a long lunch, with coffee! The other guy had to head off, he was only here for the day from Casablanca and I went back to hotel.
Out for dinner later. I had found restaurants in a 'sunken' square in the morning so headed there. I had lasagna but it was pretty dry... no sauce, just noodles ground meat and some spices.

October 26 Rabat Morocco

I got out of the apartment shortly after 10 and headed to the train station. I just about got dropped off at the Twin Centre..... my bad French! But made it fine. I only had 20 minutes to wait for the train.
It had to happen sometime... I was in the bathroom and I missed my stop! There was no announcement. Shortly after I got this worked out the guy came by checking tickets....I had to buy another ticket.... so much for cheap travel! I got off at the next station.... which it not that far from Mekness, almost where I started! I only had time to get off, change tracks and I was on the next train back to Rabat. Good think the ride was only about 20 minutes each way.
Getting on was a scramble... lots of people pushing to get on,, and I have my suitcase with me. I got on no problem but there were still people jumping on when the train started to move.

I arrived at hotel fine and went out to have a look around. This city seems very nice. Much calmer than Casablanca which will be a nice change. My hotel is not far from the main sites so I will not have to walk very far. Some of the buildings in the main centre are great looking.. the bank building and post office.

Rabat is my 4th and last imperial city of Morocco.

After eating and walking, I actually got a nap in. Morocco changed time on Sunday and the one hour is making a difference... that is my excuse anyway!

October 25 Casablanca Morocco
Headed off towards the city today. On the way there were many big old houses that would have been really something in the time. Some still look great. I could not tell if occupied or not. I walked through the Mohamed V park. It has seen better days. There are several kids rides but I don't think they have worked in several years. I sure in its time this was a busy place. Then by an abandoned mosque. This was a first. There also seem to be some Roman ruins nearby that have been incorporated into a modern sculpture of arches.
Today was an easy day. Lots of coffee, sweets and a fair bit of walking.

October 24 Casablanca Morocco

Today I headed off in the direction of the ancient medina. Along the way I saw a couple of fresh chicken stalls..... so fresh the chickens were still alive! I did not stick around to see if they butchered them on the spot when you bought one. Also saw a couple of grain mills. I guess you bring your grain in and they will grind it for you. Once again fresh food!

Found the medina, and not much different than any of the others. So I headed towards the main centre of the city. It probably took just over an hour. I found the tram line and jumped on. I only went a couple of stops and got off to have something to eat. I walked along the tracks a bit towards Mohamed V park. Found the start but decided to get back on the tram line and go to the beach. It probably took about 30 minutes.
The tram went through some high density housing and then into an area that is just being developed. Cranes everywhere. It looks like condos and hotels as it it near the beach. Got off and headed up along the beach. A lot of restaurants, hotels and cafes. Some very nice, some not so nice - they look abandoned. I got to the mall and had a coffee before heading back to apartment.

Near the centre it was easy to see it was more touristy. I was staring at the tourists! Also I was getting harassed! No shopping just looking and talking. Come see the Berber co-op. No need to buy. No thanks!!!!! Just kept walking.

October 23 Casablanca Morocco

Eased into the day. I headed out early afternoon. The street was completely blocked off in 1 direction with men praying. They were even on the sidewalk, each of them with their prayer mats. There were also lots sitting on the curb. It was really something to see. There were 100s of men. It is Friday, apparently first the weekly lesson and then the prayers.

I decided to head to the water in the other direction today. I wanted something to eat but as it was Friday restaurants are not serving food, only coffee and drinks. So I kept walking. I ended up at the ocean and right there is the Hussein II Mosque, built out into the water. It is huge! And the minaret must be the tallest building in the city. Very impressive. Still needing food I head towards the mall, thinking that the food court would be open. It was. Sadly, Burger King! Filled the hole but that is about the best I can say. I also went for a coffee at the same place as the other day. I teased them that they should have a Canadiano not Americano and the just laughed. We had joked about this the first time I was in. I guess as the only tourist around, I am easy to remember.

On the way back near apartment I was crossing the street and got stopped by Ahmed, the parking guy. He was standing in the middle of the street. His English was the best I have heard in ages. He just wanted to talk. I am supposed to meet him tomorrow for coffee and will find out where he learned his English as he is even using some slang phrases. Interesting as he is the person that is making sure traffic is kept moving by making sure people do not park in the middle of the street and yet he has very good English.

There were also a couple of football (soccer) games going on, in the street! No different than hockey games I guess.
Dinner in tonight.Sandwiches with cheese and bread from the shop next door. The guy there is funny. He tells me the price in French, sometimes he has to show me. And then teaches me how to say, and then I teach him how to say in English. It has been very interesting staying here. There are no other white guys around so I get lots of looks but people are very friendly. I am sure that today at the ocean I was included in a selfie!

October 22 Casablanca Morocco

Nothing got done today. I spent the day waiting for the apartment manager to show up to fix the wifi. She never did show and I got a message late in the afternoon that she would come by at 9 pm. Well she did, with her husband. It took them an hour but I now have wifi!

October 21 Casablanca Morocco
Started out slow, again this morning. Enjoying the relaxing coffees!
I headed out for the Mohamed V square, or at least in that direction. Along the way I stopped for coffee, I need wifi. Then I found a computer shop. The young girl spoke great English and was able to look at the wifi and make sure that my tablet was ok, it was just the router. I will have to wait and see what happens.
Walked a bit more and lunch time. Very nice little place, a chain I think for kebabs! Off for more walking towards the square. I ended up stopping in another coffee shop and spent too much time there. So I did not make it to the square, but what seemed like a long way was not really that far. I will go tomorrow. On the return trip I saw the ocean again. I had not seen that on the way out. Stopped and got some more bread and also a pomegranate. They must be in season, they are everywhere!

I had watched the street sellers peel the pomegranate and did not look that hard. Well not that difficult but I did not realize that the seed that you eat are basically loose inside. There were all over the place! But still tasted pretty good.
Out for dinner at a pizza place and then back and watching movies.

October 20 Casablanca Morocco
After really bad wifi in Marrakech, it took forever to load the google web page, I was hoping for good wifi here. But no luck. Using a mobile USB connected to a wifi and it will not work.

So after breakfast of great bread, cheese, kiwi fruit and yogurt I headed off to find a shop to help. I ended up in the telephone office. The first office was the wrong one but the security guard pointed me in the right direction. At the next store, it took a bit as the security guard had little English, but worked out where I needed to go. A short wait an spoke with one guy. He just submitted a work request for me for tomorrow. We will see how that works out.

Off for a walk to the beach. Only about 30 minutes. Interesting as the same street changed from high density to single family large houses with guards and high fences. At one point the was some very very low income housing just across the street. The beach is fairly small and of course McD's has the prime location. Walked a bit further and ended up at a shopping mall. Very nice place, but very quiet. All the stores are US based.

October 19 Casablanca Morocco

Off for coffee, but the usual guy was not there!

I had a 3 hour train trip to Casablanca. Wow this is luxury! After all the buses. Lots of leg room and a bathroom, even if it flushed directly onto the tracks.
There was actually 5 people in the 6 person compartment. 2 ladies from Florida. Retired from New Jersey. Nice to talk to them for a while. Always funny as no matter who you meet, as a traveler the topic of bodily functions comes up! Way more detail than would ever happen if not traveling! Always funny.

I had rented an apartment while here. Interesting as the house number was not on the building and the taxi driver was not going to let me out of the cab until he was sure this was the right place. he had been driving me around the block a few times and asking many people. Interesting to hear that even he did not get the same answer 2 times! Finally a young kid from the building said yes, and the taxi driver left me. I waited a long time and then went for coffee at a restaurant down the street. I had not way of contacting the manager without a phone so I needed to get wifi for skype. Amazing as I must have had 4 people check with me to make sure that everything was ok. I finally got into the place at 7.30. Off to get some food. A short wander and I found a fruit and vegetable market. 2 tomatoes, a cucumber, 2 kiwis and 5 bananas, 20 dirham, $2.60. A bit further down the street a bake shop with bread. 1 dirham each, $0.13. Amazing! I found some cheese at the shop next to the building and I was set! The cheese was expensive but really good. Nice to have something different than the process cheese that seems to be everywhere. The people in neighborhood all seem nice and willing to help.

October 18 Marakech Morocco

Not much done today. Off for coffee in morning at my now regular spot... at least for the 4 days I am here. I then just went for a walk in the new city. I walked down the main Mohamed V avenue. The most interesting part is there is a fairly new looking park, but it is a cyber park! Amazing. I did not have my tablet with me so I could not check.
I ended up at the main square for dinner. Still as crazy as it was the other night!

October 17 Marrakech Morocco
Out for coffee again early this morning. Back to same little place. The young guy knew what coffee I wanted. He tried to teach me a new word, I think, but I have no idea what it was. The old guy beside me was discretely filling a pipe. He had done the same thing yesterday. I could not smell what it was but he later told me it was cannabis! Too funny. He finished, jumped on a bike and was off.

Breakfast at riad and then off to catch the free walking tour of the city that came with my bus ticket yesterday. The tour started with 6 people but we picked up another couple later on. A German and Spanish couple to start and then an Italian girl and a Spanish girl. It was good. A trip through parts of the medina. We stopped at the medersa Ben Youssef. A Koran school. A huge place that housed about 100 boys. 2 full stories with the first story the courtyard and prayer room, and the 2nd story the rooms. 2 boys to a room. Amazing as this place is not far from my hotel. It took me 20 minutes to walk directly to the meeting place. The tour took 10 minutes to get to the medersa! I guess it pays to know your way around.

Generally a good tour but like all, we had to first see the workshops and then the 'cooperative' where we could buy the goods produced. The 'real goods not like the China market in Place Jemaa El Fna (the big square)'. Too funny. As usually not much time with the 'how it is done' and more time with 'now you can buy'. So much for 'no shopping'!!!! All interesting stuff but...... The tour itself was about 1 hour with an equal amount of time for the shopping. After the leather and metal works off to the almond oil
Does this count as selfie
factory. This time 2 seconds, 'this where the ladies grind the nuts' and off to the show room. There was at least 5 floors of showrooms, and about 20 guys hanging around. They had oils that would cure everything! Soon as we said we had enough, they could not get us out of there. Funny as the Spanish couple took off, the German couple and I were rushed back to the starting point, as the Italian and Spanish girls were shopping for oils! He was going back. To get his commission no doubt.

I stopped for lunch and then for coffee as it started to rain. It came down pretty good for about an hour. I then headed off for the Palace Bahia. A huge palace that has been restored. Very nice. I ran into the German couple again. They were here for a long weekend. I then went to the Palace Badi. This one is still in ruins with mostly just walls. Apparently the marble was taken to build the palace in Meknes. Storks now inhabit the palace. Very interesting. They also had on display the minbar (the altar) from the La Koutoubia mosque. A huge wood piece that was used for about 500 years. This one made in Spain and was special as the doors opened to revel the minbar
automatically. That part was not shown.

Back to riad for a rest and then out for dinner. This time at a small little place I had passed by a few time. The guy wanted to get me a tagine but I said too much tagine! He just laughed and that was the joke the whole time I was there. He served by cheeseburger by calling it a tagine! All good fun!

October 16 Marrakech Morocco

Awake early this morning, even after there was someone yelling at the door at 1 am for Mohamed!
Breakfast not until 8.30 and now 7.30 and I am ready to go. So I head out in search of coffee. I find a small place open just down the street. Young guy knows an americano and makes a good one. My chair is outside, it is a bit chilly, on the side of the road, at a fairly busy intersection. I am in the medina so the streets are fairly narrow. There is a lot of cars, motorbikes, bikes, pedestrians, donkey carts, and buses going by. The catch is the I do not dare stretch out my legs or they would get run over by one of the above. Amazing place for a 'quiet' morning coffee!

Breakfast at riad and then off to the main square area. I end up on the hop on hop off bus They have 2 circuits, Historical and Oasis. I rode them both. The Oasis trip went through many date plantations, each one with a group of camels waiting for riders. This tour also went by a very expensive looking development. There were not many people around, not even on the golf course. The historical trip spent most the time in the new city.
It did go by at a couple of gates. Interesting as there were not many people getting off except at the circuit exchange place or the by the large minaret, La Koutoubia. The historical tour went by many fairly new looking hotels and some abandoned ones.
It looks like there are many plans for building new places.

I went into the Place Jemaa El Fna, a very large square. Many restaurants on the perimeter and a many snake charmers. Cobras and rattlesnake looking ones. Creepy. At one point one of them was 'running' away! Damn, not what I wanted to see.

Had a rest and then headed back for dinner. I went to a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the square in front of the La Koutoubia. Very busy place and the best part was the sunset was amazing!

I then went back to Place Jemaa El Fna square. The place was packed with people. Overload on sight, smell and sound. Lots of people, many portable food stalls, and musicians playing everywhere. It was difficult to separate the music!
Back to riad, enough for one day.

October 15 Marrakesh Morocco

I was on the 11 am bus for Marrakesh. A very scenic drive up and over the High Atlas Mountains. The rocks were very red and were showing many layers. We did go by a hydroelectric dam. The lake was not very big and the water level was very low. This makes sense as it is the end of summer and there is not much rain during the summer. The land is very dry, rocky and mostly barren. There are a few trees, the desert ones I think. The trip itself was only 3 hours. The bus made 1 stop, after about 2 1/2 hours. Why I am not sure when such a short drive after.
riad door and street

The bus station for Supra is right behind the train station. Apparently they are the same company. It is is the new city. My hotel, or Riad is in the old city. I caught a taxi and he dropped me off in a parking lot in the old part of the city and pointed me in the direction I needed to go. It was down this narrow street, no cars, but I had to watch out for the motorbikes! He said it was only 5 minutes. I hit this low ceiling over the road.... wondering what I
inside riad
have done to myself. Decided to turn around and ask. I was just a few steps from the riad. The door is very nice, but the street is narrow and empty. But wow when the door opens. The place has a very nice courtyard and a small dipping pool in the middle. Total contrast to the outside. But this is what houses and riad are here apparently. This is my first.

I was starving so I headed off to find some food and stopped at the first restaurant I found. Turns out that today is their first day of operation. About 5 guys running around and all over each other. Interesting to watch. They are working out the bugs. And buying the missing items. It seemed someone was running off to the store to buy something every few minutes. I asked for a Schweppes Citron, my drink of choice and they were about to send someone off to buy but I stopped them! Too funny, they would not say they did not have it, they just go get it so they do! The food was pretty good.

I then headed off to find a pharmacy. I needed some cough medicine as I coughed most of the night. Found one, and ended up with some strong cough syrup and some anti antibiotics (amoxicilline 1g in powder form)! Amazing as the pharmacist just gave them to me. It cost about $25.

I then went for a walk, I needed to find a map of the city. I ended up at the Mosque La Koutoubia where I found a map in a nearby shop and also stopped for coffee. This is the tallest minaret at 77 metres. Built in the 12 century.

I headed back to the hotel and there was no one there! And I did not have a key to the outside door. So back to the new restaurant for some water. Then headed back to hotel. They were not going to give me a key, but I got one anyway, especially after I said I was there and no one answered the door.

Tried the internet but very very very very slow! Google home page has not loaded after 20 minutes. The worst I have seen.... so i headed out for dinner. I was not up to walking far so went back the same new restaurant. Too funny! Hand shake and welcomed in. The meat (beef) and vegetables were really good. The beef was excellent in flavour and tenderness. The skewers for lunch were a bit tough, but tasty!
Back to hotel and to bed I think!

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

October 11, 12, 13 and 14 Agadir Morocco

Ooops I did not realize so many days had gone by!

This is really a beach town.  A lot of condos and hotels.  I have heard mostly French spoken with some German thrown in.

Not too much to report for these days. I spent the first couple just lazying around trying to get over the cold. Fortunately the hotel has 1 English channel, I watched some pretty bad ones, I had no choice.

The last couple, I got cabin fever and still took it easy but headed down to the beach. Very nice. The air is cool in morning probably 16, but sun still hot. As the day goes on and it gets warmer about to 25/26, the wind gets stronger from the Atlantic. At least these days it was not as cold a wind as it was the day I arrived.

October 10 Agadir Morocco

I have a bit of a cold, so I slept most of the day away. I did go for breakfast in morning and then out for a late lunch, early dinner.

October 9 Agadir Morocco

Well the bus arrived shortly after 6 am. I must have got some sleep as time went by but I am still tired.
Some time went by talking to the German guy next to me. I am not sure how he is doing it! He has another 2 1/2 hours to go, and he only got off the bus the day before from the desert in Merzouga!

I got checked into hotel and was lucky that room was free. So I had a 2 hour nap! Then off for breakfast and a walk. I ended up at the beach. Walked the whole beach, about 2 km long. I tried to go to the dunes at one end but the military was stopping everyone from going further.

A few people around but not really that busy. They were having the awards ceremony for the RAlly Morocco. Cars, bikes, and quads.  I never heard any Canadian teams announced.
A rather quiet day. I did fall asleep watching tv. There is 1 English channel that I can find. Fox movies!

October 8 On the bus to Agadir

Yesterday I had met a taxi driver that would take me to Ait Ben Haddou (belonging to, son of, the chief). He started at 300 dirham, $40, but as I was still unsure he dropped to 200, $26. Good deal! So today he took me to the site. An 11 century Berber kasbah (city) that is now an UNESCO Heritage site. It is a city built up on a hill with lots of little streets. The city is completely built of mud bricks. There is not much rain here. It is not really desert, just a valley between the 2 mountain ranges. Very nice except there are too many shops! Some beautiful paintings and rugs and silver.... but 'no
shopping'! Interesting as the river that is close is salty as there is a salt mine upstream. They get their water from another source. There is still 8 families living in the old city.
I had coffee while waiting for the driver to show. I am enjoying the real coffee.

I then had him drop me at the studios. The old one, as he said the new one is not for visitors. This is the Atlas Corp studio. There have been many films made here from all over the world. He said the latest Ben Hur, out of Vancouver was filmed
here. He showed us the slave market set from Ben Hur but the same set was used in Cleopatra. Also James Bond, season 3 of Game of Thrones filmed here. Saw props including a jet from Jewel of the Nile, and the chariots from Gladiator. The chariots are iron! The sets actually look very small. The guide said that there were about 20 people on set for 1 movie yet in the movie it looked like 100s! There was filming going on for an English company, another Cleopatra for TV.

I headed to the road to catch the bus and 2 guys from France, working in Geneva picked me up and gave me a ride into town. Very nice.

As I had not had lunch I went to the bake shop across the street. I had a coconut slice, dipped in chocolate and a coffee. Very good, all for 12 dirham,$1.50. A very good lunch!

I had planned on catching a shared taxi but the hotel reception guy said that was difficult as not many people go to Agadir. I could pay 1200 dirham, $150 and get a private taxi, but instead I will be on a night bus for 170 dirham. Public transport is very cheap here.

October 7 Ouarzazate Morocco

I must have been tired! Slept in until 8 am! Maybe all that walking caught up with me.
Up and off for breakfast! 3 coffee morning. The guys in hotel restaurant just smile! Great coffee again and I am going to enjoy and they can also make a 'cafe alloughe', which is a long/large coffee and really is an americano! Very good. Breakfast was excellent as well. Eggs, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes and of course olives!

I headed off and stopped at travel agency to get a way to Ait Ben Haddou. But 1300 didrham ($200) is just too much. I continue on to visit the kasbah. Great building and just a maze of rooms and stairs. There even is a ventilation system by having vents in some walls that can be closed off. A real draft coming through!

Then across the street to the Cinema Museum. Amazing that many films have been made in this area. Most famous is Lawrence of Arabia but also Sahara, The Mummy and Gladiator. This museum has many sets for Christian movies. This is interesting as the country is 90% Muslim. There are also some Egyptian sets.
Had lunch in a small little place in a huge square. There is hardly anyone around! But in the evening the square is packed. Lots of little stalls with various items for sale, popcorn being the most popular. There is also several guys selling rides on the battery operated cars. The kids are loving it.

Then I headed off to 1 of the studios that is just out of town, 4 km. This is according to the Tourist Information office. I walk. After sitting most of yesterday I need the exercise and it should only take an hour. Well after an hour I find the Atlas Studio but I was told that the new
one is better but I can not find it. I find it when I get back using Google map! It was just over the next hill! Since I could not find it I caught the bus back to town and went for coffee. The bus was 3 dirham, about 5 cents. I will get to the studio tomorrow!

Dinner at a 1 of the rotisserie chicken places. They are all over and I have yet to try. The 2 young guys were falling all over themselves to help me. Quite funny. I ordered chicken and just hoped that I did not get the whole chicken. I did only get half and that was more than enough. It was excellent. I don't know what they are using for spices but is great. They seem to use a lot of cumin and paprika.
Short walk, more ice cream and enough for today.
